It is quite normal to experience feelings of anxiety, fear or a quick on set of emotions when practicing backbends- know that this is part of the process.

If opening your heart was easy— everyone would do it.

By practicing heart-opening postures such as cobra, camel, and wheel, you stretch and strengthen the muscles of your chest, shoulders, and upper back.

This will help to

  • improve your posture

  • increase your lung capacity

  • and alleviate tension in your neck and shoulders

Pre Heart Opener Vinyasa PREVIEW

This is a stretchy feel good flow that focuses on opening the neck, shoulders, spine & hips. We’re throwing away all our ‘rules’ from the first three weeks of this challenge and shifting out of strength and into more softness. This flow is a choose your own adventure - there is tons of opportunity for you to turn up if you like, how I encourage you to explore your softness.

This class includes:

- Shoulder & neck opening
- Spine stretching/ rinsing
- Hip opening
- Gentle heart opening postures

Heart Opening Flow

This class focuses on strengthening and connecting in the front body.

Time to stretch it out.

Which means creating that same connection in the back body.

To create space, there has to be a strong foundation to ground in.

It is said that the Heart is the seat of the soul, and heart openers are said to help us with vulnerability, confidence, and feelings associated with self worth.  

2 Hour Heart Opener & backbends Workshop

Heart openers work our energetic body as hard as our physical body. Today’s workshop emphasized using the strength of our back body in order to soften the front body. 

We start with a 30 minute flow that preps the body for deep back bending. We open our shoulders, our spine and our hips. 

This class includes: 

  • dancers pose with a strap

  • Pigeon with strap

  • Full wheel to forearms

  • Floor bow

  • Scorpion from pincha

  • Scorpion in chin stand
